Carat Cairn is a small nonprofit dedicated to preserving local stone cairns and promoting community stewardship. If you have a question, idea, volunteer interest, media request, or need information about our projects, the fastest way to reach us is by email.
How to write
Please send messages to hello@caratcairn.org. To help us respond effectively, include a clear subject line and a brief description of your request. Examples of helpful subject lines:

What we handle
We welcome messages about:

What we don’t handle
We are unable to provide legal advice or professional archaeological services via email. For formal research collaborations or excavation permits, include institutional affiliation and a project summary; we will direct you to the appropriate procedures or partners.
Response times and expectations
We aim to respond within 2–3 business days for routine inquiries. Messages received over weekends or holidays will be reviewed the next business day. For media requests or time-sensitive partnership decisions, please indicate the deadline in your subject line — we prioritize those where possible.
Privacy and accessibility
Your email address and the information you send are used only to respond to your inquiry and to improve our programs. We do not share personal details with third parties without consent. If you need information in an alternative format or accommodations to participate, tell us in your message and we will work to meet your needs.
Other tips
- If you are reporting a hazard or an urgent safety issue, include exact location details and, if possible, a photo.
- For research or partnership requests, attach a short CV or project brief to speed review.
- If you do not receive a reply within five business days, please resend your message with “Follow-up” in the subject line.
